Elizabeth K. Short
Founder, Aloha Divorce and Mediation Services
Elizabeth is the founder of Aloha Divorce and Mediation Services and brings over 30 years of experience in Hawaii’s legal industry. A graduate of the National Institute for Paralegal Arts and Sciences, she also completed major coursework in Political Science at Chaminade University. Elizabeth is trained by the Mediation Center of the Pacific, where she continues to volunteer as a community mediator, helping individuals resolve conflicts with dignity and respect. Throughout her career, Elizabeth has worked extensively in both public and private legal settings, supporting attorneys and clients in a wide range of practice areas, including family law, juvenile advocacy, civil litigation, and administrative matters. She also has experience advocating for individuals and families impacted by serious mental illness, providing informed, compassionate support in navigating complex systems of care, guardianship, and court involvement. Her deep familiarity with Hawaii’s state and federal courts, as well as local regulatory agencies, allows her to offer practical guidance and clarity during challenging transitions. Elizabeth is known for her attention to detail, calm presence, and unwavering commitment to helping families move forward peacefully.
